On this site, you will find a lot of usefull information about the Marquesas islands, in the French Polynesia territories (TOM).

I have included pages about Paul Gaugin and Jacques Brel as well as a page about archeology in the Marquesas Isles (for those interested). You can have a look to the history of the islands (french or english), to its geography, with the various maps provided, and to litteracy related to Polynesia and Marqesas. You will be able to see some images of tapas and Tikies as well as Polynesian war tools and tatoos . Listen to music samples (now also in MP3 format here) and see some local dance pictures, and learn some words of Marquisian too.
